Lexington, Kentucky (LEX 18) — A woman from Lexington made her debut on the Food Network.

She’s not a show contestant, but she’s an expert judge on behalf of Kentucky in “Buddy vs. Duff.”

Originally from eastern Kentucky, Alex Narramore calls Lexington his hometown. She is an artist of sugar flowers and cakes.

“You make the perfect beautiful base of the cake. You know that you stack all your layers and you do everything, and you take your flowers and you arrange “I will,” Naramore said of her work.

She decided to study art, but she has always looked at the beauty of flowers.

“My childhood home has a rose garden, which is why I love roses,” Naramore said.

So it takes time to make cakes and sugar flowers.

“I use all the flowers I grow in the garden as a living reference for carving sugar flowers,” she said. “All imperfections and shadows, shadows and highlights are custom made for that flower.”

In her kitchen, her job is her hobby. Each cake is a work of art. Layers, butter cream and sugar flowers are all made from scratch. Her creative work has earned her position as an Expert Judge in Food Network.

“We had a full dialogue through the laptop, and they will continue,” Naramore said. “Episode will take 8 hours to shoot each.”

She was able to communicate in real time away from Lexington’s home. She says she is honored to represent Kentucky.

“I’ll definitely do it again,” she said.

Naramore says this is a reminder that others will continue to pursue their passion.

“I think you just have to dream and hold on to that dream, and never really let it go,” Naramore said.

Naramore debuted Sunday night at 9pm
