Lincoln Avenue: Two floors of Glasgow high rise flats evacuated after fire – Omaha, Nebraska

The family evacuated from their homes early this morning after a fire broke out in a block in Glasgow’s apartment.

The double-decker house in a high-rise apartment on Lincoln Avenue in Knightswood was safely transported after an alarm was issued after 4 am.

At least nine fire trucks were sent to the Glasgow project to combat the flames on the 17th floor.

The fire was extinguished and no one was injured, but firefighters remain on the scene.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire Rescue Team said:

“Operation Control mobilized nine fire trucks on Lincoln Avenue in Glasgow, where the fire affected the 17th floor of the apartment’s Mirtis Toy Block.

“The residents on the 17th and 18th floors have been removed and the fire has been extinguished.

“There were no casualties and we stayed at the scene.”

After Friday night, a hero firefighter reported working on a deliberate flame in a house on Parney Street in Merchant City in the city.
