Darius Leonardo aims to maintain a historic pace for the fourth year, and Bobby Okeleke aims to build a strong finish by 2020. JJ Stankebits
Malik Jefferson (signed as free agent) Isaiah Kaufushi (signed as undrafted free agent)
Jefferson, the third round pick of 2018, has played 34 games in the Bengals, Browns and Chargers over the last three seasons. Kaufushi played a college ball at BYU, scoring a total of 204 tackles in four seasons at the Cougars.
Who is out
Anthony Walker (signed with Browns)
Replacing Walker’s leadership will be a challenge for Darius Leonard, Bobby Okereke and other Colts linebackers, but it’s something the group accepts.
“Obviously, Anthony was the rock, the focus and the real leader of our team,” said Okereke. “For me only, personal accountability, stepping up, making sure I’m a consistent leader for everyone in defense, and really continuing this.”
Who is back
Matthew Adams (4th year) Zaire Franklin (4th year) Darius Leonard (4th year) Bobby Okeleke (3rd year) EJ Speed (3rd year) Jordan Glasgow (2nd year) Sky Moore (2nd year)
What to watch out for
Okereke aims to build a strong finish in the Grand Park by 2020, but there should be fierce competition among Colts’ linebacker return groups to replace Walker with Mike’s linebackers.

They said it
“This is the fourth year on my system. After a couple of years or more in the system, we can do even more. Everyone knows what we do. No sugar coating No. We line up. Do what we are doing and be confident that there is a veteran player on the defensive side of the ball, so we can change the situation and even disguise I will.
To become a championship defense, you have to stop shooting your feet. You need to know the handbook. You can’t have a mental mistake. Looking at the losing match, there was nothing the other team was doing. Missing assignments, making mental mistakes, and receiving stupid penalties were what we were doing ourselves. Those are things we can’t do. Once you’ve done everything, you’re in the championship defense. -Dalias Leonardo
