ST. Louis (KMOV.com)-Juneteenth is now the 12th holiday and has fully influenced many people on both sides of Mississippi.

If you want to go out to commemorate the release of slavery this weekend, here are some things you can check out:

The St. Louis Black Chief Officers Committee will host the inauguration in collaboration with the National Black Chief Officer Juneteenth Freedom Weekend At the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel. Luncheon will be held on Friday at 11:30 am and smoke and ship will be held at 7:30 pm. A rally will be held on Saturday at 10 am and a full-scale party will be held at 8 pm.

East St. Louis will host the Juneteenth Freedom Festival activities on June 19th from 10am to 8pm. The event begins with a 5K walk at 10am and at 11:00 am the convoy will move from the Save-a-Lot store on the 10 Vieux Carre Drive to the East St. Louis City Hall Building. At noon, a launching ceremony will take place at the East St. Louis City Hall Building.

Alton celebrates June 16th with live music, local craft sellers, food, free children’s activities, and Saturday 10 am-5pm giveaways at Killion Park.

A Cross the Eads Bridge with less traffic by bicycle It will be held on Saturday at 8 am.

Bellefontaine Neighbors will host a celebration from 10 am to 2 pm in the parking lot of the recreation center on 9669 Bellefontaine Road.

City Councilor President Louis Rhead, City Councilor Black Presidium, St. Louis Metropolitan Urban League, and community members will be invited to the 2nd Annual Ride for Freedom. The car parade starts at 11:00 am, with a brief explanation at 11:30 am and the parade starts at 12:00 pm. Participants must meet at ULSTL headquarters on the 1408 North Kings Highway.

The City Foundry STL, held Saturday in St. Louis, will be open to the public free of charge from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. The St. Louis Taste of Black has six dining options on site.
