The 20th Anniversary Ceremony was held on Saturday as a face-to-face event with many additions to the monument.

Each year, the Valley gathers to honor the approximately 3,000 people who died on 9/11.
This year, they started construction in Phase 2 of the expansion.
Lady and her family-in-law visited from New York City and saw a new statue in honor of her sister, NYPD Moira Smith.
She was the first police officer to call for an attack on headquarters and the only female first responder who lost her life that day, helping thousands of people leave the tower for safety. rice field.
“It’s a great honor for my sister and it makes my family humble,” Mary said. “I had to go out to see it. She was my sister. She was a party life. She was very humble but loved it. “
Among many other additions, they added three life-sized bronze statues, including a monument symbolizing the civilian heroes of Flight 93, a soldier and an injured warrior and his dog.
In 2020, the National 9/11 Memorial in New York City presented a sapling survivor tree to the Fresno monument. This is the last creature drawn from scratch.

The Fresno police chief says it’s cool to see the monument. He says it goes home for him.

“One of the great things I remember right after that was how the country got together. At that point, I didn’t really belong,” he said. “We were all Americans.
