Local Second Line artist teaches her craft to people of France – New Orleans, Louisiana

Some of our own NOLA indigenous people have recently been selected to fly to France, where they have a taste of New Orleans culture. One of those performers is Second Line Shorty. For a month, Shorty has been teaching the French people her skills. She said it was important for her 26-year-old to represent New Orleans in a way that the inhabitants were proud of. Shorty said, “It’s my first time teaching a second line. I didn’t expect to come here. There are so many people who are proud of me that I have to go home strongly. I have to go back to the second line. Shorty’s other artists are bounce artist Skip and Zydeco artist Jessica, who were brought out under the “New Orleans Fever” program with Mary Houdin.
