Longtime Eagle Valley High School football coach John Ramunno dies at 64 – Denver, Colorado

Eagle’s John Karl Ramunno lost a short fight against cancer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Greeley on Saturday, July 17, 2021. He was 64 years old.

John was born on January 4, 1957 in Steamboat Springs. His parents, Carl “Big C” and Marilyn Ramunno, were community fixtures and were active in their church. His influence on the lives of many young people, including teachers and coaches, attracted him to follow in the footsteps of his parents.

John was an outstanding high school athlete who participated in soccer, athletics and wrestling for his father. This is a Hall of Fame wrestling coach. He was a proud steamboat sailor. John graduated from Western State University in Gunnison, where he wrestled and played soccer, supporting the Mountaineers to the end.
