A group of Louisiana law enforcement officers opposed the bill before the veto session. Proponents say the law claims Article 2 of the Constitutional Amendment.

Opponents of the bill say the training required is reasonable and endorsed by the majority of Louisiana’s inhabitants.

The vote was 23-15 in favor of revoking the veto-three votes short against the two-thirds majority required to pass.
