Lilyana Romero was one of seven teenagers packed into a small car last month.
Police said the driver was suspected of drunk driving.
Liliana died on the scene. The other two passengers were seriously injured.
At her funeral on Saturday, more than 100 people appeared to pay homage.
Liliana’s mother, Dalia Romero, placed her daughter at the last resting place in the Fresno Memorial Garden Cemetery.
She said it was the most difficult thing parents had to experience.
“It was overwhelming, she was loved-she was very loved,” Dalia said.
Liliana left behind her mother and stepfather, two brothers, one sister, and countless friends.
They are friends who have now become like Dahlia’s additional children as they overcome grief together.
“They are all young children, it could have happened to them, it could have happened to their family, and it would have happened to their friends,” Daria said.
The 17-year-old driver remains behind the bar, waiting to appear in court.
He faces a felony of drunk driving and manslaughter.
“I want justice to be provided-he should be responsible for adult behavior. Adult behavior has adult consequences,” Dalia said.
Dalia said she is focusing on increasing the number of parents who talk to their children about the dangers of drunk driving to prevent other parents from feeling this pain.
“You have to talk to your child, have that conversation. We can go home in an unpleasant ride and have a conversation in the morning, but at least you are at home It’s safe, “she said.
All she has left is the memory of her girl who loved skating and loved the Raiders.
Almost a month after the tragedy, Lily’s family said goodbye because they wanted justice.
