Pembroke, NC (WBTW) —The Lambie Tribal Council has planned an investigation into tribal stores and flood impacts on Thursday.
The council has passed a resolution on the Lumbee Tribal store that allows online and in-store purchases. Items include short-sleeved and long-sleeved shirts, polo shirts, jackets, hoodies, decals, flags and license plates.
The council also passed a resolution on research on the effects of floods.
Members of the council met with university researchers to discuss how floods and hurricanes affect the Lambies. The goal is to identify the impact on the community and create visual tools to help the community prepare for floods.
After the study is completed, the findings will be presented.
The Lumbee are the largest tribe in North Carolina and the largest tribe east of the Mississippi River, with approximately 55,000 members.
