Madewell announces dedicated denim resale platform

Featuring ThredUp’s Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) technology and logistics program, Madewell Forever is the first 360 resale platform launched through this channel. The two companies have worked closely together to create a white label resale channel focused on denim, including digital shops.

A platform that allows Madewell fans to empty their closets and buy used denim will be available in over 3,000 used women’s jeans. Using pieces that are in stock through ThredUp’s inventory and collected at the Madewell store, Madewell Forever adds new styles every hour, if available.

Customers, regardless of brand or style, can bring their worn jeans to a Madewell store, receive $ 20 and spend on a regular priced pair of branded jeans. The collected denim items are sent to ThredUp, which sorts the inventory, hands over women’s Madewell denim that meets quality standards, and resells it via Madewell Forever.

Parts deemed unsuitable for resale will be recycled through approved programs such as Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green.
