The popular drama crime program “Private Detective Magnum” shot in Hawaii has been canceled after four seasons.

The weekly series, which aired what turned out to be the finale on May 6, led the Friday night period with a rating of 0.7 among adults aged 18-49 this season. The show was a reboot of a 1980s drama starring Tom Selleck.

The new version of the show starred Jay Hernandez and Perdita Week.

According to several news reports, today’s cancellation came after a long and complex discussion between CBS and Reed Studio’s Universal Television.

CBS has previously announced that another CBS crime drama “NCIS: Hawaii” filmed in Hawaii will be back in the second season. It will air on Monday night.
