Denver-Thursday afternoon, a “major accident” involving semi-trucks and tow trucks closed the east-facing lane of the I-70 near Georgetown.
The Golden Colorado Patrol reported the crash at 1:45 pm. Officials said the crash occurred on an eastbound I-70 at Mile Marker 231 three miles east of Georgetown.
Traffic to the east was detoured at Exit 228 (George Town) and sent to a narrow frontage road.
CSP Eagle tweeted additional information about the crash about 30 minutes later, stating that the eastbound I-70 was closed at Silverthorne Exit 205 and the eastbound US6 was closed at Mile Marker 217 from Kestione. ..
