    Honolulu Police Department and Honolulu Medical Inspector Office staff investigated the scene of an occupational accident in Kalihi on Monday.

The Honolulu Medical Inspector’s Office has identified a 28-year-old man who died on Monday after being trapped in heavy equipment serving in Kalihi as Paul B. Pestana in Honolulu.

Nearly 20 firefighters responded to occupational accidents at Bob’s Equipment Sales & Rentals in 2285 Hoonee Pl.Just before 10 am

Upon arrival, according to the Honolulu Fire Department, the fire brigade found an employee of the company he was servicing, “trapped under a truck-mounted scissors-type crane.”

A firefighter was trying to use a hydraulic tool to lift a crane from a man called Pestana when another employee of a heavy equipment company used a forklift to lift the heavy arm of the crane from a colleague.

The crew then removed Pestana and performed CPR until the EMS arrived and took over. He was sentenced to death on the scene because he was injured in an accident.
