A federal grand jury has extradited to Missouri a man accused of cyberstalking underage girls in Hawaii, Texas, Oklahoma, California and Missouri to create and distribute child pornography, seeking further prosecution. .

Gerald Javier Montez, 31, was arrested in Honolulu by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents on July 29.

A federal grand jury for the Eastern District of Missouri returned the indictment on July 27, indicting Montez for distributing child pornography, attempting to create child pornography, and cyberstalking.

Montez faces a minimum of 15 years in prison if convicted of creating child pornography. Five years mandatory imprisonment if convicted of distributing child pornography. A custody complaint filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle T. Bateman for the Eastern District of Missouri has increased penalties for cyberstalking charges because the victim is a minor.

Montes has an “extensive history that includes the sexual exploitation of underage women,” Bateman writes.

Victims were listed by initials and identified as a 13-year-old victim identified as PR in Hawaii, 14-year-old FW in Missouri, 17-year-old JK in Oklahoma, and 16-year-old KF in Texas. 26 years old, SN, lives in CA. According to federal court documents, Montez allegedly had an affair with SN when she was 15 and he was 20.

Federal investigators and police also alleged that Montez “had been in contact with other underage women who have not yet been identified.”

“Some of these communications may have resulted from defendants accessing online message boards for depression and suicide,” Bateman wrote. “In other communications, defendants pretended to be girls and encouraged underage women to send sexually explicit images and videos.”
