Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV)-A man accused of planting weapons in a downtown detention center during construction is currently suing the state, claiming he was being abused in prison.
Alex Friedman is a longtime prison reform expert arrested in 2020 and charged with vandalism. He has been accused of dressing up like a construction worker and hiding his weapons in a prison that was under construction at the time.

Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall said Friedman intended to use weapons to allow prisoners to escape from prison after the prison was completed.
Friedman is currently suing the Tennessee Corrections Bureau. He is in Riverbend Maximum Security Prison.
He claims to have lost 40 pounds in a special “ironman cell” under more stringent conditions than death row prisoners.
A federal prosecutor in central Tennessee called it the “blood bath” of the plan. Davidson County sheriffs simply called it evil.
