Newburgh Heights, Ohio (WJW) — A man accused of killing a Garfield Heights woman in front of children while driving has been charged with several charges.
Ellis Wilson, 34, was charged with one each of exacerbated murder, murder, violent assault, possession of a disabled weapon, and improper handling of firearms in a car.
Prosecutors say Wilson and Breeana Presley, 33, claimed in her car on December 19 while driving along Interstate 77. They are 12 years and 8 months old.
Wilson shot the victim multiple times before the vehicle stopped near the Harvard Avenue ramp. Then he ran away from the car, the prosecutor says.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and was soon sentenced to death.
Her children were not injured.
Wilson was found hiding near a brush along the freeway and was arrested.
Wilson is detained in Kaiyahoga County Jail for a $ 1 million bond. He will be arraigned at a later date.
