A man allegedly quarreling with parishioners was detained in Anaheim on Friday morning during a prayer service.

It happened around 9:45 am at St. Anthony Claret Church in 1450 E. La Palma Ave.

The man, who the police say is homeless, entered the church during worship, behaved irregularly, and began yelling at the woman. A man in the church intervened and asked him to leave, which led the two men to push each other.

According to Anaheim police, the quarrel spilled out of the church as the parishioners followed. The man apparently threw himself to the ground before the police arrived at the scene, police told KTLA.

Church officials said they did not intend to prosecute the man, but one of the parishioners asked police to prosecute the man.

Transient men are detained and face sins that may interfere with the place of worship. This is a misdemeanor.

The Parish of Orange, to which the parish belongs, said that clerics and church attendees were not injured, but that some church facilities were slightly damaged.

“Orange Parish is always vigilant about maintaining a safe place of worship throughout our parish, and we hope that the health and safety of all people in our community will continue. “Masu,” the parish said in a statement.

The incident in the church will happen a few days later Gunman fired at the church About 20 miles south of Laguna Woods. The shooting killed one person and injured several others.

Jacob Garacher, a spokesman for the Anaheim police, said the latest incident highlights the importance of being vigilant and attentive to others.
