Man arrested after hitting deputy on Highway 149 in Montgomery County – Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee

Montgomery County, Tennessee (WKRN) – A man in Montgomery County was arrested after beating his adjutant on Highway 149 on Sunday.

It happened around 2:40 am and the highway was closed for several hours. According to a Facebook post from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, an agent was guiding traffic while the Tennessee Department of Transportation crew was clearing debris from the road. At that time, officials say 21-year-old Noah Smith crossed his lane, moved above the median and attacked one of the lawmakers.

The deputy director has been taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol arrived at the scene to investigate the case and detained Smith.

He has been charged with weighted assault, reckless danger, vehicle runaway, improper display of registration, and no insurance. His deposit was set at $ 20,000.00.
