Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — A man was arrested in connection with the incident. One person was shot and injured in a mass shooting in Portland last weekend, According to the Portland Police Department.

45-year-old Kelly J. Winkles was arrested by Portland police and charged with attempted murder, assault, illegal use of firearms, and felony possession of firearms.

The arrest took place last Sunday afternoon after police searched for an armed man who may have been hiding in the woods near his home in southwestern Portland.

According to the PPB, there was a large camp nearby.

When police arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. Police provided medical assistance immediately until the victims were treated and taken to a local hospital by ambulance, police officials said.

“The injury was serious, but later determined to be non-life-threatening,” the PPB said in a statement.

The enhanced community safety team subsequently identified Winkles as a suspect in the case. Winkles was subsequently arrested without any problems, located at 8600 block on Southwest Barber Boulevard.

The names of the victims have not been disclosed.
