Police said the teen had stolen a tip jar at Utah station since 4 pm when the customer intervened.



ST. Louis (KMOV.com)-A teenager was shot in the stomach on Thursday after assaulting a customer in an attempt to steal a tip jar at a restaurant in southern St. Louis.

A police officer at the St. Louis Police Department said a customer intervened while a teen was stealing a tip jar from a Utah station restaurant just before 4 pm. Police said the teen had pushed a 56-year-old customer to the ground and hit him when someone else shot him. 16 years old in the stomach.

News 4 called a restaurant in Utah in 1956, but declined to comment. The restaurant was closed for the rest of the day.



Samuel Bauer, 52, was arrested after a 16-year-old boy was shot dead after beating a man at a Utah station restaurant in an attempt to steal a tip jar.




The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was later listed in a stable condition. The beaten man refused treatment but suffered obvious facial injuries.

A 52-year-old archer was detained and his gun confiscated. On Friday, police announced the suspect’s name as Samuel Bauer. According to police, a warrant for primary assault has been applied at a traveling law firm.
