According to Clarksville Now’s news partner, 20-year-old Marquitis Ridley was arrested on September 11 on charges of being charged by a grand jury in Montgomery County in April.
The child’s mother, Whitney Brown, was previously arrested for a single murder, exacerbated child abuse, and neglect.
On January 9, Brown’s two-month-old child, Kamali Ridley, was taken to Tenaba Healthcare-Clarksville and then to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.
According to previous reports and court records, the child was unresponsive and suffered a head injury. About three days later, Kamari died of an injury.
Ridley’s hearing is scheduled for September 24th.
