Denver – A man charged with more than 120 sexual assaults in Jefferson County, first arrested in 2016, was expelled from Ecuador to the United States last week and charged.
According to the First District Attorney’s Office, 69-year-old Peter Robert Lobert is the second person to be handed over from Ecuador in the last 27 years.
He faces 126 alleged sexual assaults, including 63 sexual assaults (victims are helpless) and 62 sexual assaults (victims are incompetent).
He was arrested on suspicion in June 2016, but did not appear at the January 2017 hearing. The district attorney’s office said on Tuesday that it would not release further information on the cause of the case and prosecution.
Detmar was arrested in Cuenca, Ecuador on April 27. According to the District Attorney’s Office, the FBI, the Department of Defense, the Department of State, and the Department of Justice’s Department of International Affairs have helped with the transfer.
Detmar has an advisory hearing on the incident scheduled for December 1.
According to court records, he originally invested a $ 2,000 deposit in the proceedings in 2016, and if he did not appear in court, the deposit was increased to $ 20,000.
Records show that after his delivery was set, the judge set his bond to only $ 1 million in cash.
