Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — One man died and another detained after an incident near 6th Avenue and Drexel Road on Thursday evening.
According to Tucson police, it occurred in 100 blocks of East Palmas Place shortly after 6:30 pm. The first police officer to respond received reports of a domestic battle and found an unresponsive man in the house showing obvious signs of trauma. Tucson firefighters later declared he died on the scene. He was later identified as 69-year-old Dan Emmanuel Harris.
Police also detained another man on the scene and were later identified as 42-year-old Robert Heime Martinez. Investigators later determined that Martinez and Harris lived at home with other family members.
Eventually, Martinez was charged with two murders and booked in Pima County Prison.
Harris’s murder is celebrating its 80th anniversary in Tucson this year. This is the highest record in the city’s history.
