Las Vegas (KLAS) — Skyler Gerald, 26, claims he felt “threatening” and “fearing his life,” which he did early on Saturday, May 22. That’s why I stabbed another man and killed him.

The puncture wound occurred in an apartment located at 3100 blocks of Decatur Boulevard between Sirius Avenue and Desert Inn Road.

According to the arrest report, Gerald and his girlfriend were in dispute, and the girlfriend called a friend. The friend and her boyfriend, identified as Marquis Williams, went to the apartment to leave her girlfriend with them, but she didn’t.

While all four were in the apartment, the report says Williams began to criticize Gerald for his life choices and then slapped a bottle of water from his hands. At that point, Gerald “grabbed a butcher knife that stabbed Williams several times.”

Williams reportedly died on the scene and suffered “apparent sharp force injuries” to his head and torso.

When police arrived at the apartment, Gerald said he needed to protect himself because he was found near a “bloody” rental office and was attacked.

Police did not find a weapon in Williams.

Gerald has been arrested and faces open murder.
