Las Vegas (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man suspected of dying from an overdose of a 17-year-old girl will appear in court on Tuesday.
Joshua Roberts, 22, has been accused of giving 17-year-old Mia Guzino MDMA pushed into tablets containing fentanyl in February 2020. He has been charged with one and two murders and the sale of controlled substances. He will appear in court for a preliminary hearing.
Guzino’s family said he didn’t think Mia knew that the pills she was taking contained fentanyl. MDMA is also known as ecstasy. Gugino was found dead in his bedroom by his father on February 18, 2021.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police held a press conference in mid-September, announcing the growing problem of Roberts’ arrest and death from overdose of fentanyl. Police warned that anyone selling drugs that kill someone could be charged with murder.
According to police, Roberts provided Gugino, a graduate of 100th Anniversary High School, with tablets containing illegal drugs.
