A man was shot dead after attending a party on Sunday at a volunteer fire brigade banquet hall in Charles County, Maryland, officials said.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Capitol Heights’ Leonna Saniel Inavinet had been killed. He was 25 years old.
According to a preliminary investigation into the murder, Inavinet attended a birthday party at the Brian’s Road Volunteer Fire Department’s banquet hall on Livingston Road in the Brian’s Road community.
According to the sheriff’s office, he was helping clean up after the party and was in the back parking lot when an “unknown” shot him.
The officer arrived at around 10:45 pm. Inavinet was taken to a hospital where he was sentenced to death.
The detective is working on the lead and is trying to establish a motive.
“There were no known incidents at the pre-shooting party,” the sheriff’s office said.
