Man fatally shot in 2nd police shooting near UC Riverside this week – Riverside, California

A young man was shot dead by police in a second police shot near the University of California, Riverside on Tuesday, officials said.

According to Riverside police officer Javier Cabrera, police initially responded to reports of vandalism involving gunmen near the corners of Iowa and college boulevards at around 4:50 pm.

The police officer who responded saw a man who matched the description of the suspect who started running with a gun. According to police, at least one police officer fired near Cranford Avenue when they chased the man on University Avenue.

According to Cabrera, the man was beaten at least once and died on the scene.

Authorities have not identified the man and have described him only as an adult of a young man.

According to Cabrera, a second suspect, who appears to have been involved in some way, was detained.

Police say the gun was recovered on the scene.

The policeman was not injured.

The shooting scene on Tuesday is Riverside police shot and killed a man allegedly plunged into a police car. It’s past midnight on Monday.

The man shot in the incident was seriously injured. No updates were provided on his condition on Tuesday.
