A jury in Golden-Jefferson County, Colorado found a man guilty of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at the ARC Thrift Store in Alvada in January 2020.

Ron Wyman, 62, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 15, according to the First Judicial District Law Firm.

On January 12, 2020, Alvada police responded to a mother who reported to a thrift shop at 9661 W 58th Ave. that a man grabbed her daughter’s butt inside the shop.

The child told police that a man, later identified as Wyman, passed by and grabbed her while looking at the goods. She also told police that she had seen Wyman go around her and make eye contact before grabbing her. The surveillance video confirmed the child’s report.

The mother told police that she had driven the man out of the store and physically prevented him from escaping by car.

According to DA’s office, Wyman has an extensive criminal record, including sexual offenses against children. Prosecutors have added three habitual criminal charges for felony charges committed in Denver and California, including public obscenity, attempted kidnapping, and a second murder.

Wyman will appear in court on June 7th in the customary phase and July 1st in the judgment.
