A 39-year-old man in the Old Town died in a car accident early Friday morning in Bangor, Maine, 1-95.

According to Maine police, Anthony Monroe was driving south near Broadway Street at around 3:37 am on Friday when he hit a guardrail near exit 185 of the ramp.

The car then traveled across the road and hit a median concrete barrier. Monroe, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was declared dead on the scene.

Maine police were assisted by the Bangor Police Department and the Bangor Fire Department.
