Nashville (WSMV)-A man who jumped into the Cumberland River from a pedestrian bridge in Nashville after 8 pm was arrested Wednesday night.
Donald A. Finnegan, 31, told police when he was looking for a “thrill and adrenaline rush.”
Police officers were called into the area under the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge, where they found Finnegan wet while escaping from the water. He immediately told the police that he had actually jumped into the water.
While talking to Finnegan, police officers noticed his red-eyed eyes and the smell of his alcohol. When asked, he told the police that he drank a pint and a half when he woke up.
Finnegan was arrested and charged with public drunkenness and trespassing after telling police that this would not be his last time to jump off the bridge.
Finnegan was booked in Metro Prison Wednesday night at 10:22 pm. At the time of this article, he is still in police custody.
