Albuquerque, New Mexico(KRQE) – The Federal Attorney’s Office in New Mexico reports that a California man was sentenced in federal court for assaulting two flight attendants during a flight to Albuquerque. Alton James Johnson, 43, in Yuba City, California, was sentenced to six months in prison after being found guilty on January 12, according to a press release from the US Federal Attorney’s Office.
According to a judicial transaction, Johnson repeatedly touched the soles of female flight attendants during a flight from San Diego, California to Albuquerque on December 23, 2019. After telling him to stop, Johnson reportedly grabbed the but grab part of the flight attendant.
Another flight attendant intervened and asked Johnson not to touch the flight attendant at all. At this time, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office reported that Johnson had squeezed the arm of the second flight attendant.
Johnson reportedly admitted that he was under the influence of alcohol, but admitted that he was in control of his behavior when the assault occurred. The FBI investigated the case and was charged with assistant federal prosecutor Jamie L. Loyval.
