Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (WBTW) — A warrant suggests that the man was arrested after police said they had set fire in the bathroom of a Waffle House in Myrtle Beach for four hours.
Philip Jerome Graham, 53, was arrested and charged with two arson and trespassing, according to online prison records.
According to Captain Jonathan Evans of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department, officials were called in on Tuesday morning at 100 North Kings Highway in a small fire. If you search Google Maps, you will see the Waffle House at that address. According to the warrant, the responding police officer noticed smoke coming from under the bathroom door.
According to the warrant, an employee told police that Graham had been trapped in the bathroom for four hours and refused to leave. Police eventually dismissed him and allegedly admitted that he had set fire.
Evans said there were no injuries or structural damages. The warrant indicates that there was minor damage to the bathroom door.
