Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) —Tucson police are investigating a murder on 7th Avenue on July 23.
Around 10 pm, police responded to a house in block 4400 on S. 7th Avenue after being reportedly shot, according to the TPD. Upon arrival, police officers found a man in front of the house with obvious signs of bullet trauma, where they began providing assistance and CPRed the male victims.
According to the TPD, Tucson firefighters arrived at the scene and continued their life-saving measures. Shortly thereafter, the victim died on the scene. The victim was identified as a 43-year-old Ruvencha Barrier Valenzuela. A close relative was notified.
According to the agency, Valenzuela was believed to have stood outside visiting the inhabitants of the house when he arrived at the scene and was shot after the detective made a witness statement and gathered evidence.
Investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act, police said. The department is currently pursuing the lead in the case.
