KOIN, Oregon — A 65-year-old man allegedly confessed to having caused a fire that destroyed a home in Southeast Portland has been charged with arson.
According to Portland police, Robert Seaman was arrested when he returned to the scene on SE129 because an investigator was investigating the fire. Seaman is alleged to have confessed to an investigator on the scene.
The fire was so fierce that it broke the windows of the neighbor’s house and forced firefighters to fight the flames from the outside. No one was at home and no injuries were reported, but the house was totally lost.
