According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, a man sleeping in bed was hit on his back with a bullet early Thursday morning.

According to police, the victim said he heard noise and had back pain at around 2:30 am at 600 blocks northwest of Farragut Street. His wife woke up because of the noise and saw him shot. The person in the basement also heard the noise and went upstairs to witness the victim being shot dead.

Police said the victim was conscious and breathing.

The victim, who returned home Thursday night, told Alberto Pimienta of Telemundo 44 that a bullet remained on his back.

According to police, no arrests have been made and no explanation has been given to the suspect.
