Police said the child was safe, but the car and suspect were still missing

KOIN, Oregon — Saturday morning in Beaverton, looking for a man who stole a car with his child, even though he was safe.

Beaverton police told KOIN 6 News that a thief boarded a car at the Southwest Canyon Road Basic Meat Market parking lot around 9:10 am while his mother was in the store.

According to police, the man drove away, but returned a few minutes later and made fun of his mother by leaving his child alone. The policeman said the man had told her that she should “call the police.”

The man then had her take the child out of the back seat. He took off by car and hasn’t been seen yet.

According to the BPD, the suspect is a white man with long braided hair wearing a multicolored COVID mask.

The vehicle is the 2013 Honda Pilot-License Plate 357-GLV.
