Mandaloun takes up the controversial Haskell at DQ’s Monmouth – Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky

Oceanport, NJ (AP) — Kentucky Derby runner-up Mandalone was involved in another controversial finish, apparently turning the winner Hotrod Charlie in one fell swoop and robbed by Midnight Bourbon and his jockey. Later, on Saturday, he awarded a $ 1 million Haskell stakes at Monmouth Park, a scary fall.

According to an on-call veterinarian on the Jersey Shore truck, midnight Bourbon recovered from the fall and escaped unharmed.

Jockey Paco Lopez boarded and was taken off the truck by ambulance. There was no immediate word about his condition.

Track Steward flashed the inquiry sign shortly after the race, and it didn’t take long to finally place 4-5’s favorite Hot Rod Charlie, who finished second in Belmont Stakes, for interference.
