Marcus Smart spent the moment of Paul Pierce in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday.
The Celtics start point guard injured his right ankle when he landed awkwardly after attempting an aggressive rebound at the beginning of the third quarter. Smart lay down on the court for a while and shouted in pain before getting off the court with help.
Smart stayed in the changing room for a few minutes, ran down the hallway between the bench and the changing room, and stayed loose. After he was diagnosed with a sprain on his right ankle, Smart was allowed to return.
Smart returned to the bench and quickly returned to the game, remaining at 6:52 in the third quarter. Boston was his first property and forced Miami to violate a shot clock. With subsequent aggressive possession, Smart put the ball in the corner and pumped it before pulling the trigger to nail the three pointers.
The smart 3-pointer cut the heat lead to 10 after the Celtics dragged 15 in half-time and 26 in the first half.
