Tuesday is May 4th, also known as Star Wars Day (like “May 4th with you”). This is an informal holiday for fans of the science fiction movie series. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has decided to take part in the fun by posting a series of interesting road signs with Star Wars-themed messages on some of the state’s major roads.
MassDOT Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver shared a photo of some signs on Twitter on Tuesday morning.
“You may be wondering about some unusual messages @MassDOT “Today’s highway signs are always a good day for safety and garbage messages, but today is also a special day for Star Wars fans, so I thought I’d mix it up a bit with some theme messages. “
Please read the sign that says “Only Sith waste”. “Keep the Mass clean.”
“Wookiee hates trash. Don’t offend Wookiee,” another said.
Others have delivered safety messages such as “Trust in your strength and fasten your seatbelts” or “Don’t try. Wear your seatbelts.”
Another said, “The 12-parsec Kessel is safe and too fast,” which is a reference to Han Solo’s famous Kessel execution, which is mentioned in “Star Wars Episode IV: New Hope.”
