Maui firefighters rescue California woman 100 yards offshore in large surf – Honolulu, Hawaii

Firefighters rescued a 37-year-old California woman who was stepping on a big wave 100 yards off Kapalua late Wednesday afternoon.

The Maui Fire Department said in a news release that the woman was knocked off the rock by the waves and was unable to return to the shore.

Around 5:30 pm, firefighters found a woman in an area known as “Dragon’s Teeth.”

Rescue workers went into the water and used a rescue surfboard to take the woman to the shore.

The woman suffered from fatigue and suffered minor abrasions and abrasions.
