Greenville, South Carolina (WSPA) – Meals on Wheels, Greenville, South Carolina, is back on a five-day delivery schedule and is looking for volunteers to meet demand.
The Meals on Wheels of Green Building will return to its 5-day delivery schedule starting Monday, July 12. The organization has been operating with a shortened three-day delivery schedule since the start of the pandemic.
Meals on Wheels wants additional volunteers to help meet demand as daily routes grow.
“We have a great team of volunteers who worked with us during unusual times. We would like to invite new volunteers and welcome others who may have taken a break.” Said Muriel Taylor, Director of Volunteer & Community Engagement for Dining at Greenville Wheels. “After months of limited interaction, many of our returning friends and neighbors feel more isolated and lonely than ever before. More than a meal for these vulnerable people. We hope that anyone who can do it will join us in order to continue to fulfill our mission of delivering. “
There are several ways to volunteer with Meals on Wheel. Individuals who are interested in delivering meals directly to returning clients Fill out the application form online. There are also options available to work with the group on a regular basis as a route alternative or as a route partner. Additional volunteer options are available to serve as a meal packaging, pet food packaging, special event service, and greeter at the Meals on Wheel facility. There is no age limit to volunteer.
