New Port Richey, Florida — Kathleen Moore’s monument is growing on Carmel Avenue in New Port Richey. And, as it is, her family and other loved ones said they were still struggling to keep track of the news they got just a day ago.
“It’s the setting it is now,” said her friend Samantha Nates.
“She always smiles and jokes always love everyone, so it’s very hard to know that she needs to face someone like him on her own. No one can help her. “I did,” said Moore’s cousin, Britney Kendrick.
Moore was found dead on December 7, a week after being reported missing. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has charged her boyfriend, Colin Nap, with a second murder in connection with their death.
Kathleen’s monument was held outside Nap’s house on Wednesday, police said she was near where she was found.
Someone who knows her tells ABC Action News that she wants this to be her legacy.
“I just want people to remember her smile,” said her cousin Jose Awards.
“We want everyone to continue to love each other. She didn’t care about skin color and so on. She loved everyone. So she keeps spreading such love. Please, “said Kendrick.
And when the family closed the event with an amazing act of grace, they prayed for everyone involved in the incident.
“So my prayer is that we continue to pray not only for my family, but also for the young man’s family. We pray for him,” Ward said.
The family says there will be more monuments and rallies for her in the next few days. They also say that funeral arrangements are still in progress.
