“When I saw, I’m thinking of Gabby now [the mural]”I felt I could pay respect and affection to her family, and of course to her,” said Jake McMahon, who started the monument.
But McMahon said gestures aren’t just for Petit.
“This is not uncommon. It always happens,” he said. “Other cases like this may not be very exposed, so a deeper meaning to me is that since I did this yesterday, my Facebook has exploded in other cases that people share around the world. I’m here. “
McMahon will send a written note to Petit’s family.
