“I’ve been here for 12 years, and I’ve seen it all. It never stops. It never stops,” said property manager Lenny Griffith.
During that period, she says, dozens of washing machine parts, quarters, and other thieves available at the Caprine Evo apartment were stolen. Attempts at theft and intrusion have left thousands of dollars in damage over the years.
A recent intrusion was captured by a camera and two men were seen breaking the key to the door of the communal laundry room.
“They were smoking crack pipes there,” Griffith said.
She says it all happened around 3 pm in the daytime. After noticing the camera in the corner, one of the men reached for the camera and stripped it off the wall. But not before he had a clear look at his face.
Griffith wants someone to recognize the man and discourage them from returning and being taken away from the inhabitants.
“This is their community,” she said. “This is their home and my responsibility is to make sure they feel safe and stay safe.”
Fresno police said that if one of the men was identified in the video, it could be reported anonymously by calling Valley Crimestoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
