The Messe Frankfurt Group has announced the cancellation of Heim Textiles, the leading international trade fair for home and contract textiles in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, January 11-14, 2022. This decision was made in light of the worsening German pandemic situation over the past two weeks and the associated limitations.

Messe Frankfurt will work with all industry partners to find out if Heimtextil can be held in parallel with Techtextil and Texprocess and within what framework it can be held from June 21st to 24th, 2022. We are working closely together.

As an international trade fair, Heim Textiles is the first major international trade fair in Germany shortly after Christmas and New Year, always starting the spring trade fair season and attending exhibitors and visitors from more than 135 countries.

“The exponential increase in the number of infections in a very short period of time and the resulting numerous developments and resolutions outside the scope of the organizer’s influence have significantly exacerbated the general condition and requirements required for retention. Heim Textiles as a major trade fair for international relevance in this early stage. These developments include classification as a high-risk region in Germany and related travel warnings, in India, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom. International and intercontinental travel restrictions, as well as quarantine obligations and “2G” (only vaccination and recovery status is required if the German WHO vaccine list is not recognized, “the organizer said.

“Equally important is the steadily increasing number of infections and the associated urgent complaints, including the Robert Koch Institute, to minimize contact and cancel all major events,” the organizer said. Added.

Many Heim Textile exhibitors and visiting companies are now responding by banning travel and trade fairs due to their obligation to worry about their employees to protect them from health risks. The world’s willingness to travel continues to decline rapidly.

However, the planning and staging of other spring trade fairs Ambiente, Christmasworld, Creative World and Paperworld will not be affected. These trade fairs will still be held as they will be held later this year, at the end of January and mid-February, respectively.

In addition, Frankfurt Fashion Week is now far less internationally known than Heim Textiles, Frankfurt’s most international trade fair, so it can be held from this perspective as well. Very volatile situations are continuously reviewed and evaluated in close exchange with relevant authorities and industry partners.
