Nashville (WSMV)-Metro Social Services has announced that it will open a frigid shelter on Thursday night.

After traveling overnight on Friday, temperatures are expected to be below freezing.

Metro’s Extreme Cold Weather Shelter will be located at 3230 Brick Church Pike in Nashville, 37207, Tennessee.

Transportation facilities “Hub and Spoke” Plan Outreach workers are set up to drop individuals to designated locations in Nashville in the west, east, north, and south to catch free vans to WeGo Central.

Community partners will also receive instructions on how to drop off an overflow shelter outside business hours.

Anyone who goes to the shelter can get a free ride from WeGo Central with WeGo Public Transit Line 23B Between 7 pm and 11 pm when the cold shelter is open.

Frigid shelters are open from 7 pm to 7 am and are open to men, women, couples and pet owners.
