After nearly acquiring Gordon Hayward in 2014, owners Michael Jordan and Hornets are reportedly able to land the star in front of them this time.
According to ESPN’s Zacklow, Jordan intended to call Hayward on Friday night to have Charlotte come. It clearly paid dividends as Hayward and Hornets agreed on a four-year $ 120 million deal.
Six years ago, Hayward and Hornets agreed on a four-year offer sheet with an expected maximum of $ 63 million, but Jazz stormed and agreed to an offer to keep him in Utah.
Michael Jordan called Gordon Hayward late last night to sign a deal with Charlotte, Hayward told ESPN today. Hayward clearly remembers how MJ and Hornets signed him on the Limited Free Agent Offer Sheet in 2014.

Hayward stayed in Utah throughout the 2016-17 season, joined the Celtics in 2017 and now seems to be heading to Charlotte. Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks could also be landing points, but Hayward, who rejected the $ 34.1 million player option earlier this week, chose to work with Jordan and Company.
