Michelin sells the first product line of X Incity EV Z electric bus tires. It can also be adapted for use in traditional urban and suburban vehicles.
According to a French supplier, 5,000 electric buses are currently in use in Europe, but five years from now, ten times as many electric buses will be used.
Michelin X Incity EVZ tires have a load capacity of up to 8 tonnes to accommodate the weight of heavy electric buses due to the battery.
Particular attention is paid to the protection of the tire sidewalls, as the tire sidewalls are in regular contact with the edges of the pavement. A wear indicator on the side indicates when the tire needs to rotate.
Using Michelin regeneration technology, the X Incity EV Z series is built with a progressive tread design that provides vertical and horizontal grip.
In addition, the life of this product is 10% longer, rolling resistance is improved by 13%, and load capacity is improved.
Michelin has determined a standard size to facilitate fleet management: 275/70 R 22.5 152 / 149J.
This range, designed to be re-grooved and readable, is marked 3PMSF.
