Oakland County, Michigan — A fourth student died in Michigan after being shot dead in high school on Tuesday afternoon.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office announced on Wednesday that 17-year-old Justin Schilling died at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac around 10:45 am.

Schilling was among the 11 shots when authorities said another student had fired at Oxford High School north of Detroit.

The other three students killed were identified as 16-year-old Tate Myre, 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, and 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin.

The suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was detained at school after authorities said he had fired 15 to 20 ammunition.

Officials say the suspect’s father bought the gun used for the shooting four days ago. When they detained him, they found seven bullets with a 9mm pistol.

According to police, the suspect’s parents contacted the suspect and told him not to talk to the police. Police say their parents also hired a lawyer. He is currently being held at Children’s Village. Officials say he may be prosecuted as an adult.

The sheriff’s office said Wednesday morning there was a preliminary meeting with the local prosecutor’s office, still collecting more information about the deadly shootings.

Law enforcement agencies will provide up-to-date information on the case on Wednesday at 3:00 pm EST.
